Joining us on a part-time basis this fall, Dr. Pressley will assist our private operation foundation with development and dissemination of psychoeducational resources through the complextrauma.org website. She will also provide pro bono outreach on trauma to local churches, community centers and municipal programs. Finally, this position will enable Dr. Pressley to resume data analyses and scholarly manuscript preparation for her important qualitative research in the areas of complex trauma, social justice and spirituality.

Comments Dr. Joseph Spinazzola, Executive Director of the Foundation Trust:

“Dr. Pressley [Jana] is a highly accomplished person who wears many hats. In addition to being a talented psychotherapist with an active private practice in Melrose, she oversees an academic year trauma certificate program for multidisciplinary professionals coming from all over Massachusetts. Jana teaches graduate level trauma courses in Tennessee and Georgia. She trains therapists, frontline workers, educators, child welfare, law enforcement, hospital, juvenile detention, and foster care personnel and programs throughout the United States and Canada to understand and respond compassionately and effectively to children, adults, families and communities impacted by developmental trauma. Naturally, we were thrilled to learn that one day per week had opened up in Jana’s schedule, and we jumped at the chance to bring her on board to help advance the philanthropic operations of the Foundation Trust.”
