Charitable Giving for Underserved New England Nonprofits
The Foundation
to Rise Above Adversity
The Foundation Trust is a private operating foundation with a dual mission. We improve understanding and response to trauma and adversity worldwide by training multidisciplinary professionals and developing educational materials for consumers, loved ones, and providers, disseminated through our curated resource website, complextrauma.org. In addition, we actively develop new programming in partnership with small to medium-sized New England nonprofits to better serve high-risk populations and elevate underrepresented communities.
We have four Priority tracks:
Enhancing Knowledge & Services

For People Impacted by
Complex Trauma
Promoting Well-being & Advancement

For At-Risk Youth
& Vulnerable Communities
Enriching Quality of Life

For Adults Living
with Chronic Conditions
Advancing Inclusivity in the Arts

What People Are Saying About Us
“We are grateful for the generous support from the Foundation Trust to provide immigrant families in need with opportunities for academic and personal development. This grant is helping us address the barriers and changing the lives of many immigrant communities in Revere. We are so grateful to the Foundation Trust for contributing to a much-needed expansion and increasing the impact of our programs.” -- Fatou Drammeh, Revere Community School
“The Foundation Trust grant allows us to reach individuals that we otherwise couldn't. As a new organization, having funds dedicated to supporting artists with diverse needs and/or limited finances enables us to fulfill our mission to build a creative community that is open to all.” -- Kris Rodolico, Executive Director, Follow Your Art Community Studios
"There could be no more vital or important work than helping the more vulnerable come into their full potential. We thank the Foundation Trust, deeply, for recognizing the importance of that work." -- Kerri Langlais-Emilian, Advisor, Revere High School Gender and Sexuality Alliance
"The generous commitment from the Foundation Trust to the new Medford Public Library Project has been valuable in several ways. Firstly, it was an early endorsement of our effort, setting an example for other institutional donors. Secondly, it demonstrated the varied use of the new library spaces by naming and outfitting one of the private meeting rooms for use by counselors and tutors in a safe and accessible setting." -- Barry R. Sloane, President of the MPL Foundation Board and Chairman and CEO of Century Bank
“The Foundation Trust’s support of live theatre helps to build and strengthen community by making it possible for people of all ages and walks of life to gather for shared experiences – something all too rare in today’s world.” -- Weylin Symes, Artistic Director, Greater Boston Stage Company
"We are very grateful to the Foundation Trust for supporting our efforts to continually advance the quality of life for our residents. Music speaks to all of us. For seniors dealing with age-related and memory issues, music allows them to connect more deeply to their emotions and can help with overall recall and improved self-esteem." -- Joyce Shannon, President and CEO, Nevins Family of Services
“This grant from the Foundation Trust could not have come at a better time. In addition to giving us the capacity to offer field trips during the school year, the funds also enable us to transport youth safely back home. This is hugely significant since there have been some recent incidences of gun violence in our surrounding neighborhood which have prompted us to provide youth with transportation as they leave the program. One of the goals of Teen Scene is to ensure a safe place for youth to receive academic enrichment after school. Without the funds from Foundation Trust, this would not have been possible.” -- Marolí Licardié, Executive Director, Family & Children’s Service of Greater Lynn
